Today we are talking about beauty and more precisely perfume. I was lucky enough to be able to live the experience of being a perfumer and creating my own perfume.
I didn't really know this activity existed so I gladly share. It’s a gift that my best friend gave me and I’m very happy. I think this is a great idea and it makes a big difference to any treatments or other beauty gifts you can give.
You can find different services: the one I did was a 2 hour discovery workshop.
I'll explain a little bit how it works.
I had the chance to test the Mon parfum Ma signature workshop in Toulouse, which is located in the city center (42 rue de la Pomme, 31000 Toulouse): very practical for a city-dweller like me. We are received in a "cabinet" on the 1st floor, out of sight from the street, with several perfume organs in front of you. And off we go for 2 hours of olfactory experience (personally it lasted 2:30, everyone goes at their own pace).
Sylvie is there to introduce you to her profession and her passion, and to show you how it works in the major perfumeries.
A perfume is broken down into 3 notes:
- Base Note: the odor that stays the longest, that you can smell on a load worn 2 weeks ago
- Heart Note: the smell you can smell when you walk next to someone in the street
- Head Note: the scent that finishes a perfume but does not stay long once vaporized
You will therefore work on your perfume creation in 3 stages, and for that you have 140 exclusive notes in front of you that you will feel and feel. You will be able to select what you like as you go.
This perfume is very personal and allows to bring out emotions.
So you have to trust your instincts and your tastes, it can go quickly. You smell the vial back and forth and choose whether or not it speaks to you. The selection is done like this. You choose 6 base notes at the start, then several middle notes. This is where Sylvie's role comes in. By virtue of her profession, she knows what can be married or not and little by little your perfume is created. We then do the same with the top notes.
The cool thing is that you really are in the perfumer's shoes, you go through all the steps, even the mixing in the cylinder. Everything can be learned and it's really fun.
You leave at the end with your own 50 ml.
